Andrea Richard
BIO:
Andrea Richard is a graduate of Alabama A&M University, with a B.A. in psychology and completed the Master of Divinity degree program at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA in 2010. She received her birth doula training through The Matrona Holistic Doula program (2016), Mama Glow Doula (2018) and is currently fulfilling requirements for the Mamatoto Village Community Birth Worker Training program. Andrea has served as a hospital chaplain in dedicated clinical units that include: NICU, High Risk pregnancy, Labor & Delivery providing spiritual care and holding ceremonies for expectant families, including supporting birthing persons after loss.
Originally from the Midwest, Andrea witnessed her first birth at the age of 16 which was the beginning of igniting her call to all women to reclaim their bodies and the birth process as sacred. She is confident to support all birthing people, and people of all faith backgrounds or who have no faith or religious background.
