Ollie Knight
BIO:
Ollie is a DONA International trained Birth and Postpartum Doula. Prior to their Doula training, Ollie worked as a nanny for over 10 years, working with children of all ages, but specializing in babies.
Ollie is also a nationally accredited Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through The Healthy Children Project, Inc.
With their mom being an IBCLC, Ollie grew up in the lactation/birth/baby world, constantly attending breastfeeding support groups and events. Ollie often likes to joke about how tongue ties, engorgement, and getting a good latch were all dinner table conversation in their house.
Ollie was raised in Severna Park, Maryland, in a very big family, which gave them plenty of childcare practice from a young age. After high school, they studied child psychology and gender studies at UMBC, before moving to DC in 2021.
A part of both the LGBTQIA+ and disabled community, Ollie is very passionate about inclusive language and bodily autonomy. They strive to break down harmful stereotypes and call out homophobia, transphobia, and ableism when they see it.
