Tynia Chattin

(She, Her, Hers)

Postpartum Doula

BIO:

Tynia “Ty” has had a passion for women and infant’s health since she was young. She is a DONA trained postpartum doula who is always excited to be a resource for families as they transition into a new chapter of their lives. In addition to being a doula, Tynia has supported births for the past 4 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. In both roles, she enjoys educating new parents and equipping them with the skills needed to feel comfortable caring for themselves and their babies.

Tynia obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Tidewater Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Old Dominion University. While in college she worked as a nanny and a teacher’s assistant at a learning center. These roles prepared her to work with families and helped her exercise caring for, teaching, and soothing infants/children.

Prioritizing self-care is something that Tynia has always been passionate about. She is invested in the mental, emotional, and physical health of the mothers she gets to support. At any moment, she will advocate for moms to do activities that they enjoy during the perinatal and postpartum periods. In her free time, you will find her doing the same. She enjoys going to the gym, traveling, cooking, going to the spa, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family/friends.

Finally, she is a dog mommy to her fur baby, Demi.
